Recently picked up and restored Champ. I know this is not a desirable vintage hat or as nice a lid as most of other members really nice vintage hats. I don't know the age but is my first non-modern hat. The brim is 2.5" and 5" crown (open) so the dimensions were favorable and appears to be light weight. I picked this up at a local antique store and cleaned the felt (sweat?), made a custom ribbon (first attempt- will replace at a later time) and did some light shaping (all thanks to the enormous wealth of info on this forum- thanks everyone). Some before and after pics:

Looks like a great candidate for a rehab.

A very nice afternoon here.

Seems we had a thunderstorm last night, unless I dreamt it. Biltmore Golden Pheasant 'burg

Finally I can comment your attire of the last days.
One word: fantastic!
Nothing more and nothing less
Maybe I am conditioned by Italian fashion, perhaps that of a time long gone, but the latest clothes are imperial

I hope everybody had a great weekend! I know it's tuesday already, but I've been too busy to spend time on the forum lately and I'm behind with pretty much everything, not least checking out all your awesome hats...

Fernandez y Roche for me today. Maybe I'll get round to taking a picture of it on my head later.

Superlatives that will adequately express my thoughts about that hat simply do not exist.
Wow...
Matt, Thanks! Fantastic Stetson Vita Felt Homburg! Really like contrasting band and binding.

From the series: we do not miss anything.......a special Mayser homburg for the shape and elegance.
Wonderful Steve!
Daniele, Thank you! Really great to see the Dobbs / Panizza in action! Looks super!

Early morning I was out in a Gannon (blue beaver felt w/charcoal treatment).

Home and a dog walk in a Monsavias cap. Rainy, sleet mixture has everything messy. Cap is drying with tissue paper inside on a hat block.

Headed back to work in a Cordova Cap. Cold and breezy now. Wait a moment and the weather will change at this time of the year.

I hope you are enjoying your day. Best, Eric -

Everyone's looking good again today!

Classic shark's gill treatment! I love it. This hat looks like high quality felt.
Boy, Celia, I'm a sucker for a sharksgill! Nice hat!
Thank you, it's my only hat with gills, all the others have "normal" bows. Makes me think I need another one. But then I always think I need another hat :)

Lovely hat Celia. Is it vintage or current production? Great ribbon treatment.

Michael
Thank you Michael, it's something inbetween, not quite current production but too modern to be called vintage. I guess that just means it's an old hat...
Beautiful homburg you're wearing today, and I love the scarf!

@Celia It's the TRUTH! Lovely gills, there!!
Thanks, much appreciated :)

Molto bello Celia.
I hope to see it on your head!
Grazie Daniele. I have a cold and my eyes are red, so I've decided to take a picture of me wearing the hat when I look slightly more human. Hopefully in the next few days.
Beatiful brown Dobbs/Panizza by the way, perfect colour. Every one of that lot of hats you bought recently has been a beauty :)

I wish I had more of what it takes to wear a good beret, but whatever it is, I just don't have enough. There is a guy in town who often wears one and it always looks great. Sam's always look great, too - especially that giant one he had on the other day. Oh, well, maybe in my next lifetime. For now, I can stand by and lift a glass to the guys who look truly great in them.

Cheers!

View attachment 66916 Moving into what we call "hell week" at the theater. Tech and makeup and costumes, oh my! As a Stage Ninja, I will be in black mode for the rest of the week. Starting out with my Christy's bowler that Mike Miller restored to daily driver status. I'll change out of the blue turtleneck at the end of the workday.
Great classic look!!
