You are correct. Red and gold lines of stitching around the crown and the same colors combine on the whip-stitching around the brim edge.

I already asked that Major guy what he would charge to copy that hat. It's now on my list of hats, maybe I can get to it in some months. I would never have considered a cowboy hat until I saw that one. That could be cool.
