Coming up. Give me a few minutes.Hey Max: gotta look some more.
Does this hat have a tint of blue in it or is it just the lighting? I’d love to see this one beside your Robin’s Egg blue Strat!! If you were taking requests and like, had the day off! Ha

I just love the way your mind works Jim.
Yeah, me too.

Cooler this morning;navy Borso.
What a nice re-do! Love that color, the forest fire haze kind of dulls down our images. Probably all week. Impressive.@Redfokker and I are on the same page 2 days in a row. Cool, hazy mornings and high heat this afternoon (97°F) has me wearing a favorite late 50s Royal Stetson with velvety, maleable, taupe felt and some cool reddish brown ribbon. This hat was all wonky, and quite dirty when it came to live at Casa de Tukwila so I sent it up to Bob at Black Sheep Hat Works @navarre for a make over and got it back in excellent condition.

Hat Porn. Two great colors, but my money is on the robin's egg blue for sure. Here they are

Interesting. How about a side by side? What makes the Churchill better? Felt quality and hand?View attachment 131003 View attachment 131004 View attachment 131005 View attachment 131006 Greetings All:
Today it’s a Stetson Beaver 50 7X.
A nice hat but compared to the Churchill 50....redheaded step-child.
Recent kind words appreciated.
Be well. Bowen
I really dig this one Bob. I have seen a few Malrov hats float past on Ebay. They must have been kind of popular in the day. Love how you have the brim on this one.A misty morning so I went with the Malrov.
Mike, Thank you! They did a nice job with the components.Very interesting story with this one. The changes in language to suit the market are cool. I think the multi-colored P.C. Habig liner logo is one of my favorites of the fancy German innards. Great color too. You do good hat Steve...
Thank you! I believe the multi color company crest came in around this time (early 1950s). Here is a crest from the 1930s. This is the only Soft Felt Liner I have from the 1930s or earlier so a rare find. By the way my guess is the stains are from hair wax or something similar.Fascinating history on the hat, and the ad looks awesome! I have to say, the company's crest looks far ahead of its time, nothing I would expect from a hat of this era.

Beautiful hat, Steve. Great colour and I love the shape. If the name was used by more manufacturers, we could call this brim up shape "Camber" in general. Hmmm, still might want to stick to "Bob Roberts style".P. & C. Habig Vienna, Export Quality "Camber" (changed from Wien and Qualität for the American market) production year 1952. Most P. & C. Habig Wien exports to America in this time period were Trachten influenced models so this is a rare find (in fact my only example). Also "Camber" is a model name used by different Hat Companies in Germany and Austria during this time period (see below).
The Ventilo felt vents can be seen above the top edge of the sweatband.

Thanks, Mike.Spending an enjoyable evening catching up with all the wonderful lids sported today.
It sure pays to know someone! Someone special that gives you a reason to go where these beauties come from.
Just a beauty Bob.
It seems that we are all back to the straws today. This one has a great weave and brim. Nice.
I think everyone was quite restrained in their review of this image. Not one Zombie gag. What a sorry bunch we are...
As opposed to "bunny and cow"? Nice hat and jacket, great look.
That hat gets my heart pumping every time you bring it out. We all have our fix today Greg.
Nice color. You will find a good slim brim will come in handy on many occasions. You look great in this one. Embrace the Stingy Max!
Another great straw today. Love the weave on this one too. I've been eyeballin a Monti sub fino semi colado of late from them. Looks like the quality is there. Now I just need to get off my dime.
Thank you Stefan. It is one of my favorites, so classic in it's lines, and gills are a plus.
Excellent snap my friend. You have this one just right!
The brim on that Borsalino really turns me on. A fine Dobbs as well.

Great looking Dobbs, Jim. Quality rebuild.Hitting the streets today in a Dobbs Hanover Square I recently spiffed up and rebuilt.
Sent directly from my mind to yours.
Thanks, Michael. They all look like gems, because the stinkers get hidden awayThanks WK. More picture taker than photographer.
Yes they do. It gets in on the act when I'm doing something sweaty around the yard.
Thanks Stefan.
Both gems. But then all you have is gems.
Thanks all,
Michael
I think that's my favourite straw of yours, Michael. Somehow everything's right on that hat.Me and Melvin having some coffee today.

Maybe some rains tonight and continuing through tomorrow. They will bring a cool down and some fine felt weather. For today, straw or the ventilated cap I think.
