It’s blazing hot, but I’ve been reworking this Resistol 4X. Sort of a test mule for another attempt at a kettle curl and reshaped from a cattleman to a mild Gus. Once I get the shape down I’ll work on replacing the ribbon.

It was spotless when I left the house but in 30 minutes it somehow picked up some dust as seen. The joys of a black hat.

Before the reshaping:

Better as a cattleman?

I'm a fan of both, you did nice work. I'm looking into purchasing a Sunbody for the humid days. The cattleman is one of my likes. I'm a big fan of the Gus as well. I don't think I could ever pull it off, but I'm totally digging your mild approach to it.

It’s strange how it works. There are styles I enjoy today that I once never thought I would. There are also styles that I’ve tried repeatedly that I still can’t get comfortable with. I keep trying the cattleman but I just don’t care for it on me. It looks great on the hats and I like how they look on others, but I just don’t have a head that is meant for that crease.

What VS felt is that, bowlerman? The Joey, or the Century?

It’s the pure beaver felt— that wouldn’t be Joey so I believe must be the century. It’s a great hat that usually I save for dressier occasions, but was just feeling it yesterday. Also my first time trying the corona premier, and I think it’s actually really good too!

Another of my Stagecoach conversions. This one has actually been converted by three different people, me being the last and the third person to rework this hat. Three different conversions and numerous reshapings. This hat's been through the roughs, for sure. Mine is the final conversion for this one....Tall straight crown, wider ribbon, and a 2 5/8 brim. Something different from the thin ribbons everyone is used to seeing me wear...
