Dittos on what I said to Matt. I love seeing the ORs in different shades.

I came this close (holds thumb and forefinger very close together) to putting this hat on eBay last week. It's a great hat, but I'd convinced myself it fit funny (it's a wide oval), but it really doesn't. I'm wishy-washy on the back bow, and the ribbon width limits the pinches I put in. Well, I spent some quality time with it yesterday, steaming, brushing, and reshaping. I took out the diamond, ironed out the ghosts, gave it a good steambath and brushed out the nap. It's such a great color, and I do like it, but I'm still flirting with a ribbon change out. It's the only Resistol dress felt I own, and I would hate to give up my only hat from Paducah!!

The crease you have on it looks perfect to me. Especially with the wide ribbon. Great looking hat in a very nice color!

Supposedly 20-30 mph wind showing up later today so will no doubt be moving to a cap then.

Yep... great color. Looks great with the grooy jacket, too.
Such a great color.

Good call on keeping that one Jim. It's always good to see folks push the edge of their headwear comfort zone. And it does look great. Rockin', rich brown.
Outstanding Lobbia Matt. Mirtillo is one of my favorite Borsalino colors, it is so...blueberry!
Thanks Mike.
Thanks Matt! Unfortunately I'm at work today...
I'm sorry, Bob.

I woke up and thought about playing hooky, too. I wimped out.

I've been lucky in finding them in different colors. I think I only have one or two silverbelly.

I think that Resistol felt and wide ribbon look great in the sunshine photo. Looks good with the center dent too.

Thanks,
Michael

Thanks, and yeah, I'd love to find one in "not silverbelly." There was a 1960s blue/grey one that expired on eBay last night, tho I wasn't sufficiently motivated to bid.

I just love this back bow. They do look good with a center dent, kind of a fresh factory/off the shelf look. The color on this one is rich and chocolate like. If you are looking to set it free, I hope it wanders off to Oregon.

It fits my head better with the center dent, too. The combination of wide oval and a diamond is what made it fit not quite right. Yes, the chocolate color is really nice - very rich and deep.

You're at the top of the list if I ever change my mind.

Meandered by the house a while ago and picked up a light felt that I tend to neglect:

Lee Adventure. It's factory creased and saw lots of use from its prior owner. It came to me with an aftermarket sweat. And the printing on the onionskin liner tip is just about illegible.

If the liner tip were in good shape, it would look kind of like this:

But with different color print, I reckon.

Happy rest o' the day.

I love that Lee. Cool jacket, have you researched the jacket's time frame, I would assume they continued into the Korean War?
Thanks Mike!
I haven't looked too deep into dating the jacket. The instruction tag that tells how to use the hood makes me think wartime issue as that would be faster than training the soldier how to wear his gear during an abbreviated basic training period, but that's purely assumption, speculation and guesswork not based in real fact.
