This is one of the chief executives in my hat room. Pre-WWII Stetson Clear Beaver western hats don't come up for sale often. This one was discovered by Lounge member Zetwal and I was fortunate to be able to purchase it from him. I made a thread for it with more photographs here.
c.1940, more or less, price labeled at $37.50, which would be more than $650 today.

Yesterday had one of the best assortments of Sunday hats on WHAYWT that I can remember. That was groovy.

Thanks, Michael. Chocolate all around.

Thank you, Mike. Yes, 50's.

Thank you, sir. Same reaction I had seeing your Trimble this morning.
Trimble makes me tremble, Matt.

Celebrating President's day in the traditional way. Getting my oil changed and tires rotated.

CBCD on a dark, rainy Monday.

Sent directly from my mind to yours.
Great CD for a rainy day.

It seems appropriate that "change" and "rotation" are on your agenda this Presidents' day given our four year rotation for that office.
Very cool Trimble Matt. A departure from your usual fare. Way to shake things up.
Everyone looks great this morning.Reworked Miller for me today.

Beautiful. That one just glows.
A Merry MALLORY Monday for Me, Mates!! You folks continue to kill it with fabulous felt, and even a stray straw...

And, for the benefit of our international pals, it's Presidents' Day (around here)!!!

That's a great hat. The upward brim turn on the left mirrors your smirk. Perfect!
Good looking hat,Matt.
That Trimble looks great on you! I like it a lot.

Thanks DD.

I am curious, what's the brim size on its cousin that hangs out at your pad?
Impressive.
Thanks to all for the kind words about the Trimble.

When I first started coming down with the hat bug 6 or 7 years ago and before I started handling other types of felts, westerns were the style that I dug the most. This one rekindles that diggitude.

Thanks for all the likes and kind comments about yesterday’s Wonky Disney. Truly appreciated.
Today it’s a RS Playboy. This is the hat that started it all for me. My first fedora. I almost didn’t bid on it because i thought the name was silly. I had no idea how desirable Playboys were. I thought $88 was a way lotta money. Duhh... i learned fast what a diamond deal. Thanks all for letting this one get by.
Be well. Bowen

Thanks steur. Sounds like we will warm up long enough to have a thunderstorm on Monday, and then cold again.

Wow, that Battersby has one fine wide ribbon on it. Both super hats.

You saying I look like a bank robber Richard? Ha ha. It is a pretty cool looking hat. I think that was my first or second western hat purchase. Found here locally.

Thanks all,
Michael
Thanks, Michael. The English did certainly make some nice hats back in the day.

I’m not actually wearing this hat today but i’d like to mark the occasion.

It’s always bittersweet to gift a hat, but this feels like the right move for me to make. My friend Felix here in Melbourne looks great in this vintage Champ and he can’t afford to invest in something worthwhile right now so I’m leaving this fellow behind for him in the yurt. He’ll find it when he gets home.

It’s been a terrific two months Down Under. See you all on the SE Asia side.

Cheers,
Nathan
Nice gesture and nice hat. I'm sure he'll appreciate it!
