The Polar is always a treat to see Matt. Looks like the snow is slowly melting away. Have you got your straws out yet?

Today gray and damp day, only now early afternoon the sun peeked out from the clouds

This hat has one of the most incredible felts among those in my collection
xgch8y.jpg

It is soft and almost silk, easy to form but difficult to keep in shape, reminds me of some old Borsalino
mh3qdj.jpg

Flechet Pilote premier qualité Impermeable. Color is Caniche
Color is another interesting feature that I tried to highlight with photos
259wpdg.jpg

The finish is very short and shiny hair (this finish in Italy is called "ferro francese")
14b0o7c.jpg

Probably made in the fifties or early sixties in France in the Flechet (founded in 1859) facility in Chazelles-sur-Lyon near Saint-Etienne

I want to thank you with my heart for the kind words and appreciation
Have a nice Thursday

That is an extraordinary looking felt. The texture and sheen jump off of the screen.

This afternoon and evening I have been out and about in a Cordova Cap. Pendleton wool goodness is been even working in our sleety, rainy evening weather. I have been chopping the ice build up at the foot of the drive as it will freeze and snow will be present in the morning.

Be safe and happy.

Smooth and clean Harv. Love the crease on this pretty hat.

Happy Thursday from deep in the bowels of Wright-Patterson AFB. Today, I'm working hard to keep the world safe for democracy (snicker) under America's, and the World's, Finest Hat (TM).

Not bad looking for a Chinese made fedora. Does it have reasonable quality?

6X OR today, not vintage but maybe appropriate for a drive down to the Valley (Rio Grande)

Beautiful French connection Daniele. That finish is so nice. It dances in the light.

That is a very nice looking hat, I dig the finish.
You wear it well!
Thanks CRM. It certainly is one of my favorites.
That 's funny about the "greys".Considering I was abducted(but not probed) when I was young.
That must have stunk. But... It could have been a lot, lot worse. When they bust out the probes, yer gonna have a bad time.

I had several very vivid run-ins with a couple of interdimensional aliens named Ginga and Goonga Gnish when I was a teenager. They were not greys. Rather, they were perfectly formed chrome-like spheres (like pinballs). Their ship was a larger, otherwise identical shape. I suspect that Ginga and Goonga were non-carbon based lifeforms.

Nice folks. They were charged with the very important mission of harvesting energy from the "life force" of humans. They were taking it back to their planet to compensate for the depletion of their own resources. They even had their own theme song that would precede their "arrival". I remember it vividly.

The... uh... I'll call them "lifestyle choices" that I was making at the time lead me to doubt that Ginga and Goonga exist anywhere outside of my head.

Bummer...

Thanks Mike. No straws yet. Hopefully, more real cold coming next week. Yippee!

The huge storm coming in from the Pacific is hitting today. Maybe an inch of rain. Wearing my trusty Stetson Royale Deluxe (generic designation, no model name) from 1956 to 1958 to brave the elements. This hat is light as a feather, paper thin felt that loves to be manipulated. (archive photos, to crappy outside for new ones)
