LOL! Old, yes...Dude, you just gettin' old. Ha ha. But yes, I have noticed that. And now that you mention it, a couple of times was at Walmart. I think there may be other factors involved as well.

Thanks Fruno! I have had this one for a while now. It used to have a chain-like felt band on it before I put on a grosgrain one.Nice, John. Is that new?

I saw the Orange and Black version. It might just be the only way I could do it. Too many other hats to wear instead!Come on, Red, this has got your name written all over it.... just change the colors to orange and black!
Just like a 1935 classic Playboy (I think) raw edge with the single stitching row, love it.I think you have it down, friend! That hat is ALL THAT, and a bag of chips! What a fabulous hat and a tribute to Slats himself!
Is the brim treatment a single line of stitching? Hard to see on my monitor.
Maybe, just maybe.Get yourself one of those great Pendleton tweed western blazers and try it out. You might be surprised.

Looks like Charlie. It's a rainy Tilley hat day today... here is a throwback from this day in 2015...
Thanks Jim, I appreciate it!Jack, last night before I turned in, I looked over some of my hats' reorder tags. None quite matched up with yours, unfortunately. Regardless, that tag registers as early 50s to me, if not older.

I have a Vita Felt Playboy made during war time .. probably very early 40s that does not have the decorative stitch ... so it was quite a bit later that the stitch was added I believe ... post war probably?Looks great. The pre-war Playboy had an unadorned raw brim edge. The decorative stitch was added later.

...and Charlies brims are usually shorter.People get us confused all the time. You can tell us apart by the hat size.
interesting ... to my eye that is pre 50s ... no?One that I sold some years back with decorative stitch and embroidered liner.
Surely there's a John Deere logo somewhere on that hat.Come on, Red, this has got your name written all over it.... just change the colors to orange and black!
I don't get the "sir" comment more, but I've noticed people are generally friendlier and more willing to strike up a casual conversation with me when I'm wearing one of my hats; apparently they make me more "approachable".Have you guys noticed, now that you wear hats, that people start calling you "sir" more often? Happened to me today at WalMart when I stopped in to get LilFed some candy for her youth conference....
Almost here? , Everyone knows that weekend begins Tuesday 2 pm and lasts until the following Monday !!Cooler here today so I'm going with the Wormser for my weekly grocery trip,

A Stagecoach... pin arrived today and landed on this... Stagecoach. Thank you Bob!
Cool pics and such a nice hat !There was a movie called The Third Man. Well, this is The Third Hat... the 3rd hat I've tried on this morning. It was only 65 when I left the house for a candy run, something that was necessary prior to taking LilFed to the drop-off at church for their Especially For Youth conference that takes place over the next 3 days. But the 62% humidity was sticky and thick... I tried on a new Cuenca semi-calado. Not quite right. The Worsmer Milan. Better, but not quite. Ah, the NW Hats Silverbelly with Old Copper ribbon. Perfect.
LilFed is sporting her Dobbs Milan. Perfect for her 3 day trip.
