And now for something completely different. Italian made, summer wool 8 panel cap. Plenty of excess fabric, so you can drape it in a number of ways.

Sorry A'n'A , Beautiful Falcon Park Statler (missp. Statler , hit the wrong key , I guess) , It is a Gorgeous Blue , and the Ribbon Color sets it Off ! Nice double (Roy Rogers type) (sort of Telescope ) Crown Cease on that Straw you were Flagging with , also . It looked like Fun was had my one and All at the course .

LOL. Quite alright!

Mike Miller (NW Hats) did the original refurb. I liked it for a little while, but it just wasn't "right". He's done great work for me on another hat, so I have nothing but great things to say about him.

The hat has a TON of open crown height, and it's difficult to work with. It lost some head time, so I tried a center dent, but it was too high and tapered. I just wasn't happy. The brim was another story. It was more flat in the front. Lastly, the sweatband and ribbon were a touch too tight. I decided to refurb it again myself.

Doubling up the telescope was the only way to bring the crown height back to reality. Re-flanging the brim and pulling it down in the front gave it more swoop. Lastly, I went with a classic (and wider) black ribbon, as opposed to a previous maroon color. The wider ribbon further helps with the perceived crown height.

YES!!! I love taped seams! My '30s Cavanagh inspired the Falcon Park "Classic" series. I thought a taped seam would really pay homage to the '20s and '30s hats of yore.

A'n'A original today, "Statler" beaver...

I love a black hat with a brown ribbon. I think I'm going to have to get a hold of another black hat and makes this happen.

Thanks, Michael. The felt is navy and ribbon color is a muted "plum" brown. I was originally going to use a plum colored ribbon with a deeper red/purple color. However, I already have a Dobbs Fifteen homburg with a deep red plum ribbon, so I didn't want a close copy. The Statler ribbon turned out great, because its contrast with the blue felt was truer to what I had envisioned it to be, amplifying (no pun intended ) the plum coloring rather than brown, but not so red that it matched my Dobbs. It's my Grail hat for sure!

PS - The Statler and Dobbs will probably be a good future comparison in the Side by Side thread. Hmm...

Ah. so it's blue. Regardless, I'm eventually gonna do this with a black or dark blue hat.
