Superior Hats posted some teaser shots of what I believe is my new hat in one of their instagram stories. It's their take on an OR in a semi-calado panama. I think it looks great and I can't wait to get it.

Haven't been on here for years! Glad to see it still going strong here! I await my Akubra Campdraft. My first actually. My 6th Akubra actually! Getting the Sand (which im told is the old Silverbelly since they dont make them anymore)

Resistol 5X Beaver Fort Worth. It has some condition issues and is very small, but I don't see many of these come up for sale and this one was relatively inexpensive for this age and quality. I'm guessing it's a 1960's hat.

It’s been a while since I did the USPS tango… but here we go again. The Berg I posted last week was on its way… and all looked good on Friday night when it had reached West Palm Beach from its origin of Wallkill, NY by way of Queens… looking like it would meet its estimated delivery date of Saturday…as usually if I see a package hit WPB it will show out for delivery the next AM. When the package did not arrive through most of Saturday, I check the tracking again to see they overshot my location and the hat ended up down in OPA Locka... and showed enroute to its next location. I figured. OK it will likely return my way by Monday.

Monday…. Las Vegas, Nevada!! This hat is doing all the traveling I’d like to do!!! Especially if it’s on to Colorado, Montana and the Pacific NW. I’ll be jealous. LOL

I feel ya. I have that happen to me quite a bit, but not so drastic. Mine usually still end up somewhere in the same state.

You'd figure with all the great technology available, this wouldn't happen, at least not as often as it does. Maybe the barcode reader didn't work, and they mixed up Opa Locka with Las Vegas. It is the same amount of letters.

I’m finding info on the model going back to 1893.

1903:

This edition, with the registration number, dates from 1907 to 1915 as far as I can tell.

wallkill... that's where my last hat came from! BTW we are having the mildest summer in a very long time, at least in my part of the PNW, it's almost chilly here as opposed to some years where it's scorching in Western WA this time of year.

wallkill... that's where my last hat came from! BTW we are having the mildest summer in a very long time, at least in my part of the PNW, it's almost chilly here as opposed to some years where it's scorching in Western WA this time of year.

Well it’s managed to move on to Memphis now. The heat and humidity down our way has been rather intense this year.

Well surprise surprise surprise….. after circling back through Memphis.. I got an alert this morning with an updated delivery date of today by 9PM. And it currently shows out for delivery. it must have taken a weeks vacation.
