Hi all.

I take my lunch a lot when I go to work, but Im tired of plastic baggies all the time and prepackaged items. Too much waste for me. Im looking for a vintage lunch box that may have had containers. Right now I carry a vintage camera case box for my lunch bag, which I dig, but you know...

I also pondered the idea of a carrying a bento lunch box.

Any suggestions on container having vintage lunch boxes?

Thanks,

LD

When I worked in radio, I used to carry my lunch (or, more accurately, my breakfast, since it was eaten at 6 AM) in a WW2 .30 caliber ammunition box. We had problems with people swiping food out of the office fridge and claiming they got it mixed up with their own since all the brown bags looked alike -- well, nobody ever tried to pull that with me!

Hmm, that's a swell idea. A vintage lunch box. Unfortunately, I can't think of anything at the top of my head. I'll post a link when I find something. I carry my lunch in my gargantuan tote bag/book bag/purse/emergency tool kit lol

Lunch items go into plastic hummus containers or ziplocks, (which get washed and reused until they leak). Said containers go into a brown paper bag, (which gets reused until it falls apart. - The one currently in front of me has lasted over 6 weeks). Brown paper bag goes into my haversack.

Haversack.

Gladware inside my bag. I never take anything that needs refrigeration, so the look is as vintage as whatever bag I have.

Gladware works better than Tupperware for me and is cheaper too. I like it when that happens.:)

30 caliber ammunition box lol That must have been heavy to tote each day but cool. I rarely bring brown bag, I eat out alot, you know single people huh? :eusa_doh: In our neck of the woods we have "lunch wagon" like at construction sites, granted it isn't the best (greasy yuck!) but you can't beat the prices :p

right now just a tupperware container in a plastic shopping bag. I have been considering a retro inspired lunchbox. WE have an adorable candy store here that sells a bunch. If i had one, i would use it.something like these:

Lite Lunch

After having lived in Europe for a few years, I tend to skip lunch
entirely or go for a very lite snack, then enjoy an evening meal either
at a neighborhood restaurant or home cooked. I also acquired the
continental breakfast routine and daily-nightly-grocery shopping if
I am cooking that day/nite.

But, if I were inclined to bring lunch, I would definitely opt for a
Yogi Bear Lunch Box. With Booboo thermos included, of course.

I use a large, insulated lunch kit. I can put my Tupperware or Gladware inside of it. It'll keep the food out of the refrigerator at a fair temperature. It bears the logo of my favorite team, whose colors run in my veins, as well.

I want to carry my lunch in a .30 cal. ammo box, but because of school saftey regulations and the, "He's gonna shoot up the school" mentality, I use ziplock bags. I have a backpack with 3 pockets, or compartments, or thatever you would like to call them, but my books go in the largest pocket, lunch items in the medium pocket, and the calulator and pens in the smaller pocket. It's a good combination that's worked since...forever. I can't wait till I have an attache style briefcase...
