Last night, I had a boring old Vodka Soda, but about a week ago I was sipping away at an Old Fashioned. Not sure it's my drink, but it wasn't bad. I prefer Caprianas.

mix 2 oz (60 ml) Gin
0.5 oz (15 ml) lemon juice
2 tsp Maraschino liqueur
1 tsp Crème de Violette
Shake with ice in a nice vintage shaker.;)
Strain into a cocktail glass.

Thanks James, I had missed that one. :eusa_doh:

The Gimlet worked rather well (I used Rose's Lime) on the second one  I added a splash of soda to give it an extra "zip" (as suggested by Esquire's Handbook for Hosts) which is nice but I prefer it without.

Ethan, I just bumped into my bottle of Galliano last night and I remembered the Milano.

1 part Gin
1 part Galliano
1 part Lemon Juice

Shake, into a cocktail glass, garnish with a thin slice each of lime and lemon surrounding a cherry.

Last night I had a Svedka vodka martini, slightly dirty.

2 parts Svedka vodka
1 part M&R dry vermouth
about 1/2 a teaspoon of olive brine
Shaken (oh, why not)
With two olives

It was pretty good :)

Foxdenton..........Sloe gins...........in a couple of months, I'll be making my own..........after the first frosts, of course! Foxdenton estate is about 10 miles from my business premises.

With you on the Gin Fizz. On the whisky front, a Woodford Reserve, JD Single Barrel, or Laphroaig Quarter Cask, are at the front of my drinks cabinet.
