What color was your first Akubra?

My RM Williams is a mid-brown, but it was my second Akubra.
My first was a David Morgan Adventurer in moonstone.
Currently waiting on a Campdraft in taupe fawn (unlike some others here I haven't got the shipment email yet - frown).
Here's my Mid-brown & my Taupe Fawn:

Coober Pedy in Bluegrass Green. The hat has taken on a decidedly western flare after I stretched it to fit my long oval head and the resultantly swept upwards, but it's still a damn fine hat and my favourite Akubra colour.

Moonstone Fed IV. Moonstone is a nice shade of grey, but I wish I’d have bought the Campdraft as my first hat...still in moonstone.

Dark Brown Fed DLX Mk III, because Indiana Jones. Obviously.

Quickly followed by a Riverina from Everything Australian - like a lot of folks here, I narrow the pinch and put on a hand-wound pugaree. Then a Carbon Grey Fed III, a Rap (black, only colour available - I'd buy mored if they did them in moonstone, bluegrass and/or navy), Silverbelly Campdraft DLX, and more recently two Fed IVs (tawny and carbon).

Fed IV in carbon grey followed by a deluxe version in brown. Need to try to get a bluegrass green campdraft next.

I can quit anytime I want!...I just don't want to.

How do you find the Stylemaster by comparison to the Campdraft? The former looks lower in photos (not seen one in person), but is it a more tapered crown?

Akubras are my favourite of all production hats I've handled. They're generally as good as anything from Bates or Locks (both of which sell a lot of rebadged Christys, I believe. Which are nice hats themselves, but not worth the Famous Shop mark-up on their own.)

There's the issue of the Stylemaster being a factory-creased hat, which makes the comparison more difficult for me. (Wouldn't it be nice to see a Stylemaster with an open crown?) That said, I would agree that the Stylemaster's crown is shorter with more of a taper than the Camp Draft.

I got my Stylemaster after wearing only a couple of modern Stetson fedoras with relatively low crowns. This made my Stylemaster look like a much more "significant" hat when I first got it. But since I've been wearing the Bushmen and Camp Drafts, the Stylemaster now looks like the little brother.

First was a brown Federation back in 2000. Before there was III or IV or deluxe. My Second two years later, I wanted something more casual and Australian so I went for a SnowyRiver in Sandtone Fawn. The most Australian shape and colour at the time.
