A lovely Sunday in Fletcher, NC today! This is in front of the historic Calvary Episcopal Church, taken from the Churchyard - heavy flannel 3 piece with peaked lapels, olive Cavanagh fedora, 1930's striped tie, cap toed McAfee brogues and trusty blackthorn stick.
This is what I wore today,
3-piece suit dated 1946
Johnston and Murphy spectators
1930's tie
1930's fedora
1900's shirt and detachable collar
1906 Waltham Pocket watch on chain
Please excuse the slight part at the top of my trousers, the waistband is lacking confidence
No picture taken today, but in the morning I put together a light blue oxford shirt, dark grey chinos, and a wool '50s/'60s narrow black tie which was U.S. Navy issued, and Service Shoes Type II (U.S. WWII reproduction boots from EMC Militaria). Over that, I put on a single-breasted raincoat, grabbed my new Akubra Federation IV (tan color), and I was good to go for the rainy weather.
I like a black shirt myself. For a very light coloured tie it' a nice contrast; also, IMO, gives it more of a Winter 'feel' than a lighter, 'Summery-coloured' shirt.
Not only is that a great looking suit, it looks really good on you. You have the body type to carry off a DB. I've never felt comfortable in a DB suit, it just doesn't hang correctly.
Hat People Full Cut newsy cap, brown tweed
Lost Worlds A-1 jacket, seal goatskin
Filson Mackinaw vest, brown
Some kinda black mock neck (picked it out in the dark)
Carhartt 14oz work dungarees, stonewash blue
Blundstone Cuthbertson boots, stout brown
In the immortal words of Chico Marx..."No taka da picsh' "
