Like all of that Mattface...except the bowtie not because there's anything wrong with it I just dislike bowties apart from black or white tie.....'re shirts I have the exact same problem , I move the collar button over almost to the edge of a 17" collar and it gives me just enough, realistically I need to drop a bit of timber too!
The belt is great and I am sure it 'll wear in soon enough, is the buckle a Hickock item? I've been after one with an S on for a while now but you don't seem so many over here!

Thanks! The buckle is a Giant Grip (I think that was a name used by Swank for their belt buckles), but I also have a Hickok one. They are very similar. I'm loving this style of buckle, and they are pretty plentiful around here. Are you looking for a particular initial?

Really well done Anthony. I am a fan of using morning dress waistcoats with appropriately dressy suits. And the gold tie against the blue (green?) pencil stripe is lovely.

Many thanks, Patrick. I was thinking it might be a bit busy? I am considering a plain shirt and darker pocket square next time. The stripe in the shirt is, as per your first surmise, blue. It is an old collar-attached shirt which began to wear out, so I had the collar taken off.

Nice combination indeed - around 1941 in Germany a double breasted light waistcoat worn with a dark striped suit was the fashion.
I would stick with a white or pastel shirt with white half-stiff collar, white pocket square and a more brightly colored, but subtle-patterned elegant tie.
I would't overburden it with the collar pin. The chain watch and bright waistcoat are effective enough.

Thanks for the comments on my last picture, I appreciate them ~ The quality of this picture is pretty bad because I had to do some serious editing since it came out so dark.... I'm pretty sure I've posted a picture of my coat before, but if not, here it is; JC Penney plaid belted coat from the 1930s. I'm very fond of it!

It is certainly maximalist dressing, but the plain pocket square limits pattern fatigue, and the jacket pinstripe isn't so loud as to compete with tie or shirt. I think you are just the right side of busy, which is a sweet spot, IMHO.

Love that mackinaw HS! Another great look.

Wow!!

I'd be very fond of it too, if it were mine. That is a superb coat!
