Sandie Shaw -- One More Lie

I stand alone in the moonlight
Gazing into the starry night
And I wait and wait
But I know you won't come
And my hands are cold
And my feet are numb

You told me one more lie
And I believed again
You told me one more lie
The last one, my friend

I hear footsteps and I turn around
Straining my ears
To hear the sound
Of your sweet hello and how do you do
But now I can see
That it isn't you

You told me one more lie
And I believed again
You told me one more lie
The last one, my friend

In the morning
You will call me
With some excuse
You're so sorry

I stand alone in the moonlight
Gazing into the starry night
And I wait and wait
But I know you won't come
And my hands are cold
And my feet are numb

You told me one more lie
And I believed again
You told me one more lie
The last one, my friend

Still on a Sandie Shaw kick

Tell The Boys (1967)
Look for the Mr Bean lookalike dancing like a malfunctioning android and the two guys behind Sandie who look like they're about to come to blows at any moment. :p

Nobody saw them running
From 16th Avenue
They never found the fingerprints
Or the weapon that was used
But someone killed country music
Cut out its heart and soul
They got away with murder
Down on music row

The almighty dollar
And the lust for worldwide fame
Slowly killed tradition
And for that, someone should hang ("Ahh, you tell 'em Alan")
They all say "Not Guilty!"
But the evidence will show
That murder was committed
Down on music row

For the steel guitars no longer cry
And the fiddles barely play
But drums and rock 'n' roll guitars
Are mixed up in your face
Ol' Hank wouldn't have a chance
On today's radio
Since they committed murder
Down on music row

They thought no one would miss it
Once it was dead and gone
They said no one would buy them ol'
Drinkin' and cheatin' songs ("Oh, but I still buy 'em")
Well there ain't no justice in it
And the hard facts are cold
Murder's been committed
Down on music row

For the steel guitars no longer cry
And you can't hear fiddles play
With drums and rock 'n' roll guitars
Mixed right up in your face
Why the Hag wouldn't have a chance
On today's radio
Since they committed murder
Down on music row

Why they even tell the Possum
To pack up and go back home
There's been an awful murder
Down on music row

Gotta like Ry Cooders stuff, but I think that song came out 1924 and he didn't cover it till 78 but did a commendable job on it....I've been known to be wrong though!!

Gotta give credit where credit is due,I could see me sitting around having a few wobbly pops with you.Gotta love the old country stuff.Just a little side note my Mom still goes to Polka Fests in Saskatchewan. It was either country or Polka this is why I'm a country fan.

Country, Polka, and Doo-Wop are my favorites. I imagine we'd get along just fine!
