Where is love?
Does it fall from skies above?
Is it underneath the willow tree
That I've been dreaming of?
Where is she?
Who I close my eyes to see?
Will I ever know the sweet "hello"
That's only meant for me?
Who can say where she may hide?
Must I travel far and wide?
'Til I am beside the someone who
I can mean something to ...
Where...?
Where is love?

Who can say where...she may hide?
Must I travel...far and wide?
'Til I am beside...the someone who
I can mean...something to...
Where?
Where is love?

That's from Oliver! Hondo, Here's a "twist"!!

The other day I posted something about Jack Wild,
who was the Artful Dodger in the 1969 film.
He died last year after a very tragic life.

Mark Lester (Oliver Twist) sang an awful version of that song you posted... butchered it badly in the film. Wild was far more talented and was nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of the Artful Dodger!

After seeing that film on the television when I was about 9, I made my parents buy me a "Newsboy" cap (like the one Oliver had).
I've been wearing one ever since, and it's become somewhat of my trademark!!

Here's another bit of trivia- Jack Wild was discovered by talent agent June Collins, mother of rock star Phil Collins.

Wild had serious drug problem, but seemed to be coming out of it, real sad, glad you got the cap ;) Yeah I always favored Jack Wilds version, when I was years younger, we'd have drunk'n bouts and sing this song, got many laughs :p

I thought I should stay in this thread:

Let's see, here's a sampling of some stuff I just put on my new MP3. I guess I'm fairly eccentric:

Smithereens
Honeymoon Suite
Jeremy Camp
Billy Joel
Springsteen (Human Touch)
CCR
Bobby Darin
Rod Stewart (You wear it well)
Eagles
Crowded House
Queen
Superman march -- John Williams
The name is Bond, James Bond -- Casino Royale soundtrack

Forever Changes by Love. I guess I'm more into 60's psychedelic and 70's prog rock than any golden era music. Blasphemy, I know!

My current obsession is an Indonesian girl garage group from the '60s called Dara Puspita. They are totally amazing! If you do a search on YouTube, you can hear their music -- which is a great alternative to trying to buy the actual LPs, which seem to be very expensive.

For the last week or so, "Tales of the Texas Rangers" at work. A woefully underappreciated true-crime show, with the not-inconsiderable bonus of starring Joel McCrea. ;)

In between times, mostly the Andrews Sisters. A couple friends and my youngest brother are working on learning their songs. We've got "In the Mood" down! I'm going to try splicing together an instrumental accompaniment, hopefully today.

I'm having fun listening to a Falco LP I found at the Goodwill this week...he was pretty original. Ooops, just slipped on some Thomas Dolby.... Earlier was Walter/Wendy Carlos' Switched on Bach...all on LP.
