Yes, Stetson was good for that...still are.....I have a couple of the early modern Strats that outside the computer sticker has no indication of model. I even have a couple of vintage Homburgs with no model indication just "Royal Deluxe" but are ST Regis in all but name. My Dakota has the Fray but is also stamped as a Dakota in cool branding iron pattern letters on the front of the sweat. I know in the catalogs they have MANY OR looking models that are not named as such, just 3X. I have one of those too....... Yes they are very interesting when it comes to model designation......Thanks, M. That's the question. It's one of those with no model name, just a Fray sweat with no designation.
PS I am jealous you can wear yours....mine is for looking at...a size or so to small, I am afraid at 7 3/8. I wear a 7 1/2 to 5/8 now....
God forbid I sell something.......right now I like looking at it!!!You ever think of selling, let me know.
It has happened to the best of us. Well me anyway. Look like you came out ok. Hang in there. Some times looking is way more fun that doing. New, black, flat hat, first time I wore it was this morning Had a few supposedly fun things to do and my "professional photographer" all lined up to document the occasion. Things don't always go as planned.
This is a nanosecond prior to dropping my dally and getting bucked off. Never had this guy buck me off. Never had him in a wreck roping. Crickey!!!!...hope it wasn't the new hat Be awhile before I get to sort that out I suspect.
This is minutes after hitting the ground...and still planted where I landed until I could get up. Which took some time while I tried to decide what if anything was broken. All good. Liking the new hat though. Might just be my good luck hat
Glad nothing got broke! I'll bet that sand really paid off. Some times looking is way more fun that doing. I reworked, resized, and reblocked this Resistol 3X. I watched Open Range again the other night and I've always liked Costner's hat so well in that movie that I used it as the inspiration to change the style of this 3X. I've got the crease set and the brim reshaped and I'm letting it dry for a while. I have a few more pics in The Conversion Corral and I'll have more once I'm finished with it...
+1well done!
Thank you buddy!well done!
That looks great,TJ,nice job on the "Costner" crease. Here's my Costner inspired Open Range hat dried and on the head...I still have to figure out a hat band for it.
Thank you Bob!That looks great,TJ,nice job on the "Costner" crease.
Ha! Looks like you got frustrated and killed the bottle! I do like the crease though.American Hat Co 3XCB
I haven't touched this one in a wk or more. I really like the look of this crease I put in...on the table; not one me! The sweat is extremely dry & brittle; splits with just the slightest touch; really needs to be replaced. I'll probably put the hat away until I decide what comes next.

Thank you Bob. I think the work you did on that crease looks great. That's a nice one!Beautiful work @T Jones / Terry!
I'm not in your league, but I'm still having fun learning. Started reshaping this Hatatorium custom. I saw this crease on an old western that was on TV a few weeks back. Sort of a Mullet-Center-Fire. Still have some work to do (a few bumps from the old crease -- I did not re-block it) and I want to curl the brim tighter towards the front (similar to yours).

These were the "before" pics. A little too standard-1990s-western for me.
