I'll tell you, out of maybe three dozen or so hats, this is the one I find myself wearing more than the others.

It is my first Borsalino, and it is so light and moldable, it's a pleasure to have on my head.

I think the hat was worn hard and often, but cared for right. In the next pix, you can see the logo and crest have just about been erased from the top of the liner, but the felt is smooth and unflawed, and the sweatband is in very good shape, and not at all brittle.

In the ongoing discussion of Borsalinos age, the reorder label say "3038 59309" with "Bismuto" underneath. Would conjecture be that this hat was made in 1930, 1938 or 1959? And what is "Bismuto?"

...is it only my impression?

Hi,
beautiful hat...isn't it like the Stetson Stratoliner?
...what do you think about...and you Fedoralover?
Regards.

Very nice Borsy, I have one similar to it. while it is somewhat similar in appearance at first glance to a Stetson Stratoliner, they are entirely different up close. The felt is very very different, the Borsalino is much softer and thinner and is by far the superior fedora in my book of likes and dislikes.
