I have this amazing suit made in 1962 for Edmund de Rothschild, who was for a very long time Chairman of the London banking operation of N. M. Rothschild & Sons. The suit was made by Leslie & Roberts, a venerable old name on Savile Row, now bought and incorporated into Welsh & Jefferies, of 20 Savile Row.
It is a shooting suit. 3 piece with knickerbockers, and is very large (see measurements), about a 46R. The fabric is quite stunning, and very much of its time (1962), but with lasting, classic appeal as a country fabric. There are some noted flaws, including a dark spot with some broken threads on the back of the left shoulder, and it looks like a repair to deal with a loose seam on the top of the left shoulder. This repair is very difficult to see unless looking for it, and should be able to be done properly - I don't thin the fabric is damaged, just a loose seam. There are some wear spots to the jacket liner. 2 buttons on the front are replacements.
PM with interest, and we can discuss a price. If this fits you, rest assured, you'll never see another one again, and certainly not with the interesting provenance. Shipping will be expensive outside of the UK, and the pieces of the suit might have to come in separate packages. Paypal preferred from outside the UK, cash or personal cheque from within the UK.
