Thanks guys. I had several compliments on it today. It didn't take long for me to start appreciating the taller crown. If nothing else I like that it's different than anything currently in my rotation. It is a "work of Art."

Tall crowns take a bit of getting used to but once you do, modern short crowns tend to look rather odd.

I cannot stand it when my hat is pushing on the hair at the top of my crown, so I prefer the taller crowns. For quite a few hats I have to roll the back higher, taking some of the 'rake' out of it, to get the crown of the hat to stay off the crown of my noggin. Some of my panamas look like a flat-top at the rear.

Yes sir. The ribbon is called French brown. I love it

Same Here! My hair stands up straight and I shaped my Akubra Country Club with a weird hump in back so that the air would flow through the hair which is no longer mashed down.
I'm a long oval and decided I'll probably buy a custom before a new factory felt hat from Akubra etc. since I just can't get many shapes out of that crown and still keep it off my hair. And there are lots of interesting shapes you see in old movies I'd like to try!
