When Mrs Methwell's sewing table is complete and my WW2 housewifely persona is ready to go, as it were, live, I'll post some pics of my sewing kit.

One of my earliest childhood memories is of my nana's sewing tins in the scullery - one old biscuit tin full of spools of thread, and one full of assorted buttons. They had a very particular smell - just a sniff of that slightly-damp, musty canvas smell takes me right back to nana's kitchen.
We also used to have a wicker workbasket on little feet but that was sadly unravelled by yrs truly at a very early age.
