This is an utterly classic 1980s Ralph Lauren tweed jacket!
Dating from Lauren's Anglophilic heyday, this jacket has all of the features that you'd expect from a Polo Blue Label jacket from the 1980s.
Cut from a wonderfully thick herringbone tweed cloth in dark mossy greens and browns, this is Ralph Lauren's take on the traditional British country tweed,.
It is cut as a 2/1 jacket (i.e., only the lower button is intended to be buttoned), a configuration that was popular in the 1980s and gave jackets a rather elegant and "slouchy" look. The pockets are bellows pockets, traditionally used on British shooting jackets. The jacket features a fully functional and detachable throat latch, which can be buttoned into the side of the jacket when not in use.
The jacket is fully lined and fully canvassed. It features a single center vent.
It has four button cuffs; all of the buttons are horn, and all are original.
This jacket was Made in the USA.
This jacket could use a dry-clean just to freshen it up--it has been stored since the Clinton administration! It does have some minor discoloration in the lining at the armpits.
Overall, then, it is in Very Good condition--and a bargain at just $60, or offer, boxed, shipped, and insured in the USA!
