Vintage Peacoat Question--is this Navy issue? Date? Any info. appreciated!

I recently picked up a vintage peacoat, and I'd love some information on it!

It's made from melton wool, and seems to have a contract number on the label; was this an official Naval coat? Any ideas on age?

I should also note that this is available for $39 shipped--which is what I have in it! Offers are also welcome--I just picked it up as it was interesting, and I thought someone here might like it!

Looks to be a 1973, U.S. Navy peacoat. I think you did ok for $38. But, yeah, this certainly belongs in the long running, official peacoat thread.
