Oh, that is a really good one. You have to love the lighting-bolt mascot. It appears he doesn't, but it would be fantastic (and logically consistent - he is made out of a lightning bolt after all) if he was lit in neon as well.

Went by this old deli the other day - haven't been in the area in a long time (used to live nearby and would drop in occasionally back in the '80s and '90s). It was closed when I went by on Monday - hence the boring first two photos I took - but to give you a sense of it in its neon glory, I grab the third photo off the web. The place is a throwback, but to be honest, it didn't feel that clean (in truth, it looked and felt dirty), so I mainly bought packaged stuff. Haven't been in it in two decades probably.

And from the web, in its glory

1954 found these on cinema treasures I had relatives who used to go here in the 40's its balcony converted into two additional theaters . It was converted in the 70's by United artists to a three screen as movies in the 70's had a stipulation that flop or not it must shown for 3-4 weeks so they converted it to make money if they got a flop movie Sadly from what I've found online it's now owned by greedy people from the Bay Area who keep it as a property right off although the city has asked for 3 million fed dollars to restore it back to the live vaudeville/ movie theatre it was in the 20's
