Vintage Long Half-Belt Leather Jacket, How Old? How Valuable?

I came across this gem of a leather jacket while thrifting. It has a Talon zipper and a chain-pull zipper on the chest pocket. Flap pockets and hand warmer pockets. The leather has nice grain (horsehide, I'm guessing). When do you guys think this was made? How valuable would a vintage long half-belt like this be? It doesn't have any tags.

It had a little surface dust. It has a few loose seems I intend to sew shut (thread has come loose on the elbow and a few other places). It is also missing one sleeve button, has a replacement button on the back, is missing the two parts of the front belt, and has some tears in the lining. Aside from that, the leather itself doesn't have any tears or holes. It does have lots of fading and the brown is showing through the black dye on top. After wiping off the dust with a damp cloth, the leather comes across darker and shinier than these photos taken before:

nice jacket. Tags are very important for value. without tag you are looking at $200. With horsehide tag and Brand tag(Hercules eg) $300-$400. Also size is very important. Most jackets of that age are small. but a true modern 44-46 will get more. looks like this has been relined.

Thanks for the information. I will try to post pics once it has been fixed up.

Seems to be a size 40 or 42. Unfortunately too large for me, as the seller didn't measure it correctly.

I sold almost the exact same jacket on ebay about 4 months ago, it fetched £80 if im not mistaken, about $120. I was pretty disappointed to be honest as, like yours seems to be, it was a beautiful old jacket. But like one of the posters above said, without the maker tag/horsehide tag unfortunately the price is affected.

Regards

This is the second old jacket I've found that is missing the tags. I wonder why they would have been removed? From the looks of the lining, it appears to be original.

the liner could have been replaced 30 years ago and the tags were thrown away at that time. People who used these everyday probably didnt care about the tags.
