My favourite company logo is the "CS" monogram, which belongs to the British pen manufactury Conway Stewart:

Here's a couple of simple ones I like, possibly because I own vehicles from both companies:
International Harvester
I've read that the logo is designed to look like a head-on view of a tractor, with the dot in the i being the head of the driver.
BMW
In this case I've read that the blue and white are meant to look like the blur of a spinning propeller, going back to BMW's early days of making aircraft engines. Also, the blue and white are the same colors as the state of Bavaria.
