I thought that the pair of sheepskin trousers that I previously posted (http://www.thefedoralounge.com/show...1-(size-6-waist-36-38-quot-)&highlight=irvin) manufactured by Irvin Air Chute would be hard to top.
However, these are simply superb. No need for hide feed, the fleece is incredibly dense and evenly coloured (bronze/honey interior) with no loss.
So, this is a beautiful pair of Large, Size 6 (waist 36-38", seat 42-44", inside leg 33.5") sheepskin flying trousers. The contract number is H539777 - Andrew Swatland confirms that this is a Links contract from 1941.
In this case, the trousers are complete: not only are the suspenders/braces present, but they are elastic and the buckles almost look like they've never been used. The leg and hip pockets/snaps are working perfectly.
The zips are period Lightning and work very smoothly indeed - all perfect.
Thanks to John Lever for taking the photos, which show the colour very well.
They'll be offered for sale soon in the classified section - ideal for a mannequin or equally very wearable for a flyer of vintage aircraft.
