This Windward is distinctive by the label script with nylon lining, nylon stitching. This is the earliest rendition of the Iconic 50s Windward labels. This script was a selling point for the "new" post war use of nylon. All the makers moved from the wool/flannel linings to the nylon around the same time c.1951. This script did not endure the 50s. It was dropped. I would guess lasted no longer than a year or two, no more.

I have identified the makers of some 50 catalog Jackets, mostly Sears. I do not know yet the maker of this jacket, exactly the reason I bought a jacket that didn't fit. bought to study, which I have not done a good job of till now.

To begin with. Most MC jackets made during the post-war era into the late 50s were good quality jackets. The earliest the better. This is an example of that early era. I own many of these jackets with all the major labels. There was also a lot of competition in this time, to make and be the best. pretty simple.

this Windward is in fine shape. the leather is as good as any other label made during this time. The main zip is well sewn, both sleeve zippers work well, the other zippers all work but are missing the pulls. Has the classic red nylon lining and two stars.

Also a couple of videos in the album. Too small for me so no fit pics.

Price: $425 shipped in CONUS. Payment plans available, please ask.

Thank, Terry

This one is available again from me. I bought it and it is indeed a beautiful jacket, but doesn't quite fit me as I wanted. Asking the same price as Terry. Just trying to get back what I put into it.
