I've never heard of this hat maker. Probably some small custom guy.
what do you all think of the hat?

here's the description off the bay.

This is a fabulous vintage felt wool CUSTOM made in Milwaukee in tan beige with a silk band. This hat is a size 7 1/4 and is made by WASICKAS 4726 S PACKARD AVE. CUDAHY WI. GREAT CONDITION!!! This is similar to the hat worn by Johnny Depp in the image provided. Very hip and cool 50's fedora

It came in the mail today. It's an interesting hat.
I don't know what you'd actually call it, but it seems to be a crossover fedora/ homburg. It's got a bit more curl to the brim than your standard fedora, so it looks almost like one with the brim up, but less than your standard homburg, so it looks like a fedora with the brim down. The brim snaps down easily and looks correct, but it has the typical homburg type brim binding. I guess you could wear it both ways, so you could have casual and formal in one hat.

The felt is in very nice shape, with no moth bites. It is a medium weight felt and a bit of massaging popped it into its original bash.

I don't know how I missed that one. Just my size too. It is a fine looking hat. I like the way you bashed it. It looks really good on you. Goes quite well with that jacket. Congratulations :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

and in case you wondered, the dimensions are as follows
crown (unbashed) = 5.5 inches
crown (bashed) = 4.5 inches
brim= 2-3/4 inches when flattened
brim = 2-1/4 inches when curled
so there's really a considerable curl in this brim.
also- a detail that struck my eye: The sweat guard plastic layer under the sweatband has hand sewn seams. The other hats I have and I've seen with this feature are either glued, taped somehow or fused.

I think your hat was a homburg to start. But the hat is soft and is easy to open the flange and snap down . Its a good hat, probably from the 1940's .
You look like Elliot Ness!!
