Some of you may have seen my thread in the suits section about a tailcoat I recently found for sale on a British website.
It arrived today, and it is woefully short on me (6'2"). I am planning to return it to the seller, unless anyone on the boards would like to have a stab at it.
It really is a lovely coat. It's constructed of medium weight worsted wool (quite heavy, actually, but the original advert said medium). I do believe the lapels are faced in grosgrain, as are the six button on the front and cuff buttons. The buttons on the cuff are functional. There are three total inside pockets. I could not find any imperfections on the coat.
I'm not an expert at measuring coats - especially tailcoats - but here's what I got:
Gross length of coat - 46"
Length of tails (taken from where the buttons on the back are) - 28"
Sleeves (measured from the side where the sleeve meets the top of the shoulder) - 26"
Chest (arm pit to armpit) - 21"
Chest (shoulder to shoulder) - 21.5"
Length of front flap/panel bit (can't recall what it's called, but measured from the point straight up to the shoulder) - 20"

If no one on these boards takes an interest to this coat, I shall return it Tuesday of next week (should give you about four days). I'm only asking $200 plus shipping for it (quite a loss for me, as I paid well over £120 originally). It will cost me quite a bit to ship it back to the UK, so I'd rather lose a little on the sale than pay USPS to ship it back and wait for my refund.
