Just grabbed a gently used anniversary edition of the left field vanson collab. I believe this one is cxl hh.
I am 6'1 192, went with a medium
Overall love the look, its definitely stiff and heavy.
Could be an inch shorter, but I'm fine with length

Shoulders and chest feel great, good range of motion, which is nice
Torso and hem are trim, which I am ok with. Its not girdle tight or squeezing the life out of me.

The stiffness makes the jacket feel a bit tighter more than the fit itself.
Assume it will become more pliable and soften over time and will form nicely.
Weight on my neck is definitely felt after long amount of time wearing
I like how vanson keeps the mobility in the shoulders and arms while tapering the body
I think I have a perfect style and fit, now its just softening the armor and maneuver the weight

Dude, that's a 10/10 perfect fit!
Glad it worked out well, now wear the crap out of it and get that brown hide coming through...
Thanks my friend!

I think it was the stiffness that had me worried, as opposed to the fit

Love the chest and shoulder fit, great mobility.

Bottom back panel is tough, gotta break it in for sure

Dying to see the leather age, such a great hide

The bottom back panel has a stiffener (plastic i think) in between the two layers of leather, it's never really going to soften...

I figured that may be the case, would love for it to be all leather since I don't ride motos.
All good anyway

Looks like that may be able to be removed, ever heard of that?

I think that would be a pretty major surgery.
All these stitch line go through both the leather and the plastic stiffener:

You could probably open the lining at the bottom of the back and cut it out, but you would have to restitch all that afterwards.
Personally i don't think it is worth taking the risk of screwing it up for what isn't really a noticeable problem.

Saying that, i have a padded Commando on order (same jacket but with the padding of the Chopper) and i asked Vanson to remove the plastic stiffener on that one....

I emailed vanson and dena at great leather about possibly removing, will update

Missed this originally...fantastic jacket and a perfect fit. Well done!
Thanks! This is a beautiful beast. Gonna let the delraiser go, this is all around better.

Sending to Dena today to remove the plastic kidney panel liner, will make it a perfect 10!

Cheers

^^ good work on getting Deana involved, she will do it right!

As for fit - in the Leather Jacket dictonary next to the term "Jacket fit" there should be your photos hyperlinked. THAT is perfect fit!

Vanson killing it. Seen a few beauties on here lately. Was looking at a comet octagon, but then saw that vintage model c with the brass hardware. They got a 15% off right now. Can start the long journey with the comp weight leather on a C2.

Surprised the medium is such a good fit. Do Vansons run big? Got me wondering whether I should size down. On paper I'd be a 42 on that weird size chart they got. But with the biswing back and overall cut, wondering if I can get to 40. I'm a 40 on my schott 118 and 141.

The Commando is sized a bit differently than stock Vanson jackets as it is a collaboration between them and Left Field NYC. I wear a size L in the standard Commando and a size 46 in the other three Vanson’s I own. I would say typically they run true to size for a motorcycle jacket.

Fit looks absolutely ace on that jacket. Doesn't look too long to me.

I just grabbed a killer model.b and I'm my usual 42 in that, love the fit of it as well. The commando has nice shoulder and chest mobility so was able to go medium, keep a trim torso.
