The more of these Vansons I see, the more I think I want to get one.

I think I may have to do a weekend motorcycle ride to check out their store.

Old photo that I’ve posted before in the show your grain thread but I think it belongs here as well. Comet in competition weight.

Picked up this Marauder in size 46 for $330 shipped . It seems to have been worn very little. It looks to be the old CW leather ( it weighs 6lbs 5 oz ) couldn't find a single scratch on the leather and the rayon liner is perfect. Not sure how old it is , does anyone know the date of these jackets ? Fit is spot on ( seems to run large in this pattern) . I'm 6 foot 2 in and 220 lbs with a 49 inch chest 38.5 inch waist and 40 inch hips . Only issue is a slight cigar smoke smell that I'm sorting out with ( hopefully) with fresh cold blustery air and sunlight . Did have to condition it so I used Mustang paste ( horse oil) witch really made a difference and also surpringly helped to reduce the cigar smell . I was looking for a Windward style jacked at this really fit the bill .

There are others far more expert than me, but I understand they were made to sell with the Suzuki Marauder, which sold from 1996 - 2004(+/-) so that should give you a ballpark. Others can tell you more from the Vanson product coding…

My only Vanson. Not sure what model this is. Several of the numbers in the pocket are not sharp enough to read. Vanson said maybe an older CHP.
Two 7" no zipper hand warmer pockets.
One 5"x7.5" inside right hand open top pocket. Pockets and belly area stretched out a bit. Seller said it was size 37.
Lightweight leather. Goat???

Get a pair of Knipex 125 pliers.
The jaws are .125" thick.
Sorry to continue zip saga on here but I imagine it may be useful to someone else in future….

I got the knipex but unfortunately the margins between ‘zip still pops open’ and ‘slider fully jammed’ is tiny, less than half a mm! So I now have two zips with the zipper jammed fully open. There’s a mention of loosening the fit with a screwdriver but I’m not quite sure how I would get one in there given how inaccessible the sliders are when parked at the base of the zipper! Do you have an image of this? I suspect I may be on the verge of professional intervention at this point!

General question to the Vanson aficianado's - I've seen previous threads discussing the removal of the Marauder badge from the Vanson Marauder jacket... Has anyone achieved this with a nice solution, or is the better bet a cover-up (a la regretted tattoo!) ?

thanks in advance!

Personally I would leave it be.i removed a patch from a leather jacket years ago and it still annoys me to this day looking at the stitch holes. The one on your vanson is pretty unobtrusive, mine was a patch on a A2,,I hated it.

Agree with Peter on the removal of patches, the holes don't really close up completely. If you can handle it (black patch on a black jacket?.... however, I completely understand on this) leave it and get used to it. You won't (and certainly no-one else will) notice it in a short space of time.

That is a great jacket, enjoy.
