Looking at Vanson's web site, I can't find any links to photos of the different brown competition weight leather they offer. Anybody have any links?

Also...
looking for recommendations for Vanson dealers.

Vanson GA2 "Mustang Fighter Pilot" jacket in brown.

I have the 2000 version of the Vanson hardcopy catalog. It's probably outdated by now but the only brown COWhide jacket is the one listed above. The Vanson horsehide jackets are obviously different.

They used to send swatches along with the Presentation Kit. I don't know if they still offer it, but it wasn't a bad deal especially as you received a rebate for the price of the catalog ($10?). I bought the catalog only so I didn't get the swatches.

Someday I'd like to get a properf Vanson Force in battleship gray or pearl gray. Black is just too hot when riding in the summer.

Are folks ordering directly thru Vanson or a dealer?

If you have a dealer in your area, you can go through the local dealer. If not, call Vanson and have a chat with Larry or Kim. They are ones I have talked with the most. Both are knowledgeble and helpful.

I went through a (now defunct) dealer. I would recommend going to a dealer if possible.

Dealers should be able to measure you for custom fit (if you decide to do so), and there is a special Vanson measuring tool that my dealer used to spec me out. Even if you are not ordering custom the dealer can take your measurements and compare them to the "stock" factory measurements to determine how well (or poorly) you will fit the stock pattern.

Edit: I should add that my dealer knocked $50 off the MSRP on Vanson's website. So not only did I get a good fit, I got a discount. I also did not have to pay for shipping from Vanson to the shop.

I purchased a brown, comp weight Enfield thru him and couldn't be happier. He helped me get a semi-custom cut and the price was less than through any other source I could find.

Too bad I can't wear the thing now here in SoCal. I know you snowbelt folks are gonna hate this statement, but I can't wait for winter.
