Howdy folks,
I just recently purchased a US Authentic A2 with the veg tanned horse hide. This jacket is absolutely incredible, I was blown away by the leather and build quality when I got it in the mail. Here are some photos of it straight out of the box.

I took some of my beloved Obenauf's leather care product to it and that's when this beauty really began to stand out. This is two days after application so it had a chance to settle into the leather.

Now for the heart break...I've worn the jacket maybe a total of 3 days in a desperate attempt to convince myself it's not too big...but unfortunately the bottom line is that it doesn't and probably wont unless I gain a fair amount of weight. So I am putting it up for sale and the money I get for it I plan on putting right back into one just like it but a size or two smaller. If anybody is interested please feel free to get in touch with me. She is a size 44. Shoulder to Shoulder is a touch over 20-1/4, Pit to Pit is 24-1/2, and sleeve length is 24-1/2. Thanks folks, let me know what you think

I noticed the darker pictures didnt show the true color on a computer screen, so I went out an took another one in the sun light. Here is what she actually looks like.

Nice jacket I own 3 U.S. Authentic's from early on in my jacket buying career. Servicable and a real bargain if you can buy off the rack, not so much if you're larger than normal.

Well I know this isn't the classifieds, but how much for the jacket. How about some pictures of the zipper, lining and label. I've never seen a U.S. Authentic up close.

Regards,
Brent

I was really hoping to get $450 for it since it only has around 6 hours wear time wile driving too and from work, but I am also open for offers. I'll post some pictures of the lining, zipper and label tonight.

That's quite good. I have a US authentic in russet brown HH, but the finish on my jacket doesn't have near the patina and depth of color as yours does. Maybe USA has improved their game in the past few years. I have a size 40, and I've found that mine is a bit on the baggy side of fit for me as well.

I think the biggest problem with your fit with the US Authentic A-2 is sleeves and body way too long , especially the sleeves with bunching up all along the arms and tunneling at the wrists. The measurements of your A-2 are almost identical to my G&B Model 43 A-2 that is labeled as 40T (long). If you look at the G&B website, you will see that their jackets are available in Short, Regular, and Tall. Given your jacket's measurements and your body size/type, you might find that a G&B provides better sizing options for you, and a Short or Regular might be more appropriate in your case. I have no experience with US authentic but think I have heard that their jackets are cut on the long side. The jacket that you were sent would seem confirm that.

I also noticed that when I hold my arms out the jacket is just too big under the arms to the point that it almost constricts my movement and makes me look like a flying squirrel. Im shooting for that trim look maybe 3 inches over actual chest measurement, Im just having a heck of a time getting it right.

Proper fit has been the bane of my existence ever since I started to wear leather jackets. :( My size 44 USN G-1 that was issued to me in 1967 was a great fit, with the exception of sleeves that were 2" too short. I wasn't able to nail down the proper fit for my G&B "historic" Model 43 Type A-2 until I could try on sizes 40T, 42T (too big), and 44T (way too big). My sports coat size is 44L; so you can see that G&B labels the size of their jackets big. My experience is that the G&B more expensive "historic" jackets seem to be trimmer than their "regular" jackets. If you are ever in San Diego, it is well worth the just-under-one-hour trip each way on the SD Trolley from downtown SD to the G&B factory at El Cajon.
