Unpopular music opinions

Perhaps one of theee most overplayed songs on FM rock ever. John Lennon and Yoko Ono singing Birthday is my most disliked song. I'd like to be able to go back in time and find away to destroy it before it was made.

While it doesn't really sound that bad, here's Yoko's rip-off of Making Whoopie. She was even sued for copyright infringement by the estates of Walter Donaldson and Gus Kahn. I do find the tra-la-la's a bit annoying and in parts she sounds like Tiny Tim.

Yoko Ono -- Yes, I'm Your Angel

You know what? I don't like any music from the so called "Golden Days". (30s, 40s or 50s)
Can not think of a single number or single artist...does that mean, I am out of here?

That just sounds like a challenge, lol. When you think of the incredible number of songs... more than can be imagined, and you haven't liked what you've heard? SO many more to try!

Tom,

You would probably like Willie's place on Sirius/XM, they play old honky-tonk standards, Outlaw country, and Western Swing. I like it better than any modern C/W stations I've heard.

You think I'm psycho don't you mama?
You better let 'em lock me up...

Jack Kittel's rendition is pretty close to Eddie Noack's version but was recorded four years later in 1973. Some fine evil stuff...I'm keen to see if rue will call me a 'sick man' again... :D

Hi, I'm Fletch and I have problems with over-the-top show singers. (Hi Fletch!)

It's kinda tough on me personally, because I am waaay into the pre-WW2 dance band sound, which does not have much of a community of its own. It's mostly a secondary interest for show music fans. These often express amazement that anyone who appreciates a well arranged fox trot 78 with a good beat wouldn't Just Die over some gasping, shrieking diva personality that would have sent golden era audiences to the box office to ask for their money back.

Shows to go ya - "taste" is a social construct.

Yoko Ono is a waste of space. A non-talent celebrity.

like Irene Bodoni, Ethel Shutta, "Gee" Lawrence and Ethel Waters (Broadway successes all)' or those over-emoting huff-n-puffs whose caterwauling coincided wit the ascendance of the "modern" musical?

Ok, I've got a big one for you...

I can't STAND Imelda May.
Can't really explain why, maybe it's her boring toilet roll hairdo.
Or maybe that she always sounds the same.

This is a huge thread that I don't have time to read through but I can be very opinionated to here are some of mine.

Beatles - love
Bruce Springsteen - loathe entirely, go figure that was the special exhibit at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame when I went
Crosby - like
Sinatra - not so much, what I really love is when Michael Buble sings Frank's songs
Sting - dislike
Rollings Stones - meh, whatever
Maroon 5 - adore obsessively
Country music - in general not so much, I will tolerate it when requred, but I rocked Cowboy Casanova at rockaraoke last night
