We have an original 1940s / 1950s Girls Vintage Dress which fits a 3 to 4 years old. The dress belong to an Aunt of mine, who passed it onto us a few years ago when our daughter was born.
It is in a man made fibre (I think nylon). It’s a lovely vintage cut and was one of my daughters favourite period dresses, but she is getting to large for the dress now, so it is time to let another little girl wear this historical outfit.
Looking at the cut and the quantity of fabric & the fact it is nylon make me believe this dress is late 1940 / early 1950 when the UK wartime restrictions where being lifted and large collars became fashionable again.
One button is missing at the back, (see photo) and is a little grubby I am sure it would clean up, but I know most collectors prefer to clean the outfit their specialist way rather than me sticking the dress into a cool wash.
As for a price, say a £5 plus what ever the true postage costs are? Rather keep it in the family so to speak than pass onto a trader.
PM me if your interested.
