Thanks to a chance trip to the BCF I am now the proud owner of a pair
Brutini tan and white spectator style shoes.

I realize they will look good with my tan pants and blazer.

But my question is: what are the rules with tan and brown shoes?

-Are they strictly a summer shoe and not appropriate after Labor Day?
-Could I wear them with a dark blue suit?

Thanks in adance for your advice.

Pictures of the shoes to follow.

Americans, like Italians, have more relaxed rules about brown shoes with blue and grey suits than the British do (traditionally). In a work context, I would NEVER wear brown shoes with a blue or grey suit. Always black.

Outside of work, I might wear oxbloods or dark brown shoes with a casual blue suit (e.g. linen) I would only wear tan shoes with a light linen suit or possibly with a green tweed suit. A brown tweed suit would probably require darker brown shoes.

Wearing brown shoes of any shade with a grey suit is frowned upon under traditional British sartorial rules (especially in the City). I personally think it looks bad as well.
