For those of you who suffered viewing my strange Borsalino
this week, here are a couple of nice ones.
The first is a Western-style hat I assume comes from
the 1950s. One of the few feathers I kinda like. The hat is
a light brown or tan color.
The camera's lens accentuates the pinch:
Apologies for the shifty-looking model:
This picture actually kinda captures the silky interior. Real silk I think:
I kinda treat this one like a beater, but it might be the only Borsalino
I own that I would describe as wonderfully buttery. A friend of mine
likes to say that the collector's life is one of regrets. I regret to report
that I once came across another hat just like this one for $25 but
turned it down 'cause I already had one... Hope the buyer appreciated it.

This second hat is another green Borsalino, but more tasteful than
the one I posted earlier in the week. Found this one a year or so
ago in a vintage store in San Francisco. The felt is a bit dry feeling
(not a bad thing) and incredibly light. I know I've posted light Borsalinos
before, but this is a big hat and it is still lighter than any non-Borsalino I
have and lighter than most of my Borsalinos, too. That's a very finely
sewn overwelt, if you're wondering.
It's green-grey.
Call me a weirdo (you won't be the first) but I'm keeping the
off-center dents:
Here's the liner/sweat:
The pictures don't do justice to the size of the crown- this is one
of the biggest fedoras I own.
