I am so excited about this, because the dvd's are NEVER in stock at my local video store. The entire original 138 episode run is now on instant Netflix... I'm having a hard time typing as I'm so excited.

WATCH AND ENJOY PEOPLE!

And if you want you can talk about your favorite episodes here I suppose.

Mine is the episode where (the title eludes me) the man drives back in time to his home town when he was a boy. Priceless.

Yes, I've become hooked on this show! I've caught a few episodes on tv in the past and was also thrilled to find this gem on instant. I know the episode your referring too. Just watched it last week.

I think the best series ever. One of the few I enjoy as much now as I did as a kid.

My favorite is too hard of a pick but I'll mention one you never see on the marathons etc. titled Come Wander With Me. It stars Gary Crosby(Bing's son) as a fast talking Rockabilly cat out to steal his next hit, only this time.....

After watching you may recognize a famous movie from the 60s that I think borrowed a few ideas from this episode.

Oh wow! This is great news! I've watched quite a few of them over the years during SciFi's New Year's Twilight Zone Marathon. I actually think I've seen the majority of episodes. Every once in a while though, I see one I've never seen before.

I remember the episodes title now, it is Walking Distance. Martin Sloan desperately wants to get away from his busy life as the vice president of an ad agency in New York, while traveling to his hometown, he actually travels back in time to when he was a boy! That episode is hands down my favorite... especially the music in it.

That's nearly my favorite episode too. It's not flashy, but it's so deeply felt. You get the sense that there's a lot of Rod Serling in Martin Sloan, cracking under the stress of producing (and writing much of) a 36-episode(!) season, longing to get back to the simplicity of the Binghamton, NY of his youth.

And that music is by the master, Bernard Herrmann.

(I already knew all this, 'cause I'm a lifelong Zone junkie - I actually watched some of the final seasons with my parents when they were first broadcast, and I later watched the show in syndication religiously for decades - but there's an excellent Wiki article about this episode: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walking_Distance )
