Tuck in your sweater

Leaving for colder climate again. Last year I had to take off to Chicago and since it was a leave now thing I wasn't totally ready for hanging outside Chicago University for a cab when Cabs don't frequent the place that late... so I froze. I was thawed out by a few friendly Students used to the climate, one wearing a shorter than the knee skirt.

One thing I have picked up from old movies and used to think was odd is tucking my sweater vest into my trousers... at least when wearing suspenders. Just makes it easier all around.

Tucking in the sweater was very popular here back in the 60's. I still see it from time to time.

I look forward to seeing the pictures. I have nothing but bad memories of "guidos" in Queens tucking their ugly sweaters into acid washed jeans in the 80's.

One option is to fold up the ribbed band at the bottom of the sweater:

i have many of those cotton late 40s cable-knit sweaters which are all over ebay and they demand to be tucked in as many are quite long. ideally a sweater should go no further down than the bottom of the waistband, and therefore doesn't need to be tucked in. making a sweater so long that you have to turn the bottom up seems like bad design.... though i confess i sometimes do that too.

I got 2 sweaters and both are gigantic, so I must tuck 'em in. Whenever I fold them up, they tend to sag and they'll invariably end up hanging in their full over-sized glory... and looking like Alvin the chipmunk is definitely not a good thing.
