Anyone have any opinions on what color suits this hat (1940s stetson in taupe/fawn with OD ribbon) would go with? If needed I can change the ribbon.

Most all earth tones, browns and probably darker blues depnding on the shoes and tie colors you would wear. My father's "dress' hat he wore from 1947 on was a similar color with almost the exact same brim binding but it had a black band and he wore it with these colors of his suits and jackets/slacks as I do today. I would not wear it with any of the grey/black colors and since it is a nice smooth finish felt, worsted suitings or hard finished tweeds would work best . JMHO :)

I subscribe Monbla's opinion. The ribbon's colour makes it a little less versatile, though. Avoid suit ground tones that are too similar to the hat's felt colour- harmonizing the ribbon's colour with your complements (tie, pocket square, etc) is the best option.
