I love vintage pulp! Golden era magazines also had some great pulp-like illustrations inside to go along with the short stories. I will try and scan some soon.

Ah, I love the pulps!

I've recently sold off most of my collection to another collector though.

Including this one, which I made a nice little profit on:

I still have a few tucked away here and there.

Love the covers, and the descriptions on the back are usually hilarious!

Outrageous and sometimes offensive was the norm, that's for sure! And you are right, the descriptions are nutty. I need to go dig around. I'll be back shortly for show and tell. In the meantime, would love to see more, just nothing *too* over the top or not suitable for all eyes. ;)

The men in her life

This is typical for the pulp-like stories inside the mag, I just love them! There are some more whodunit type cheesy stories, but also lots of romance for the gals:

There was Hilary, the man she married. And Brian, who came close. Giles, who could make her forget her past. And Tony, who forced her to remember it. lol

(This illustration looks like a commercial for deodorant. Just saying.)

Ken knelt down and began making calculations with his tape measure. The premiere of the new car went off as planned- until murder stole the show.

i picked up a few detective mags online...one from 1939, couple from the mid 40's and a double issue from '49 really neat...unfortunately they are a little too fragile to read much...but hey, i love it...
