True Confessions...wearing an HK-1 Hughes?

Watching a movie set in the 40's...LA. A detective flick with 2 Roberts and 3 D's... DeNiro, Duvall and Durning. The movie was done in '81 and I could swear (if I was the swearin' type) that Robert Duvall is wearing an Art Fawcett! Looks just like the HK-1 Howard Hughes number he did up. Chocolate brown body and matching ribbon. Possible?

Yeah, I know the dates don't match up at all. But, WOW, they sure look alike!

That was a great under appreciated film, terrific acting too. Durning plays a damn good heavy. He is one of my favorite actors.

An interesting guy. Later in his career he so often played the kind grandfatherly type...maybe that's just because he was so darn versatile he could do either, and when older that's all that writer's did for actors his age. There are very few character actors that kept active as long as he did. Wilfred Brimely, Jack Elam and Walter Brennan come to mind though I'm sure there are others.

He now plays Denis Leary's hard drinking,pot smoking, womanizing father on Rescue Me.

If I remember correctly DeNiro also wore a cool fedora. Black of course.

Well, in this film he plays a priest so black is pretty much goes without saying.

It's always interesting to see a film like this...in some crowd scenes...and esp. panning shots across the detective squad...looks like an Art Fawcett owners convention.

All of them (da hats) look so pristine...the colors, the ribbon combinations...he could have done all of them and I wouldn't be the least surprised. Hey Art, what were you doin' 25 years ago!?!
