Aside from shop-bought cds and records, I am also a big collector of unreleased and out-of-print recordings, particularly jazz.
I have hundreds if not thousands of mp3s, but it's much harder to get hold of older (ie, pre 1960) lossless (ie, uncompressed) recordings, though I do have a building collection of Ellington, Goodman, Ella, Sarah Vaughan, Basie, Armstrong, Sinatra (album outtakes), lots of Miles Davis etc etc.
Does anyone else collect? Maybe we could make some swaps. (please note: I'm not interested in sharing music that is official or commercially available, or has been vetoed by the artists themselves or their estates).
