Today a nice red scarf with a tight ordered pattern from the 60s (I would estimate), in fact I have two with the exact same pattern and label what’s the chances of that with the myriad of Tootal pattern scarves out there!

Also I was lucky this week and picked up a Duggie in perfect shape for $3 woo hoo, often the woollen side of these have imperfections…

Cheers!

I rarely see green Tootals last year I picked up two at op shops . This one features the classic small white polka dot design, it has a label and fabric make me think it is 60s or 70s vintage…

Time to brighten things up, here another Op Shop find yellow with a repeated geometric pattern and vivI’d red fringing! My guess is 60s or 70s era Scarf? I wear this with a dark jacket/shirt combo and it rrally leaps out!

We’ve moved from summer to autumn here in Australia but you wouldn’t know it, we are experiencing a mini heatwave here and today the mercury looks like hitting 40 degrees centigrade, that’s 104 in ’the old money’ hopefully in a few weeks I’ll have weather that suits wearing a Tootal …

Okay something different this time, a Treasure brand scarf with Tootal fabric, when I first saw this in the op shop the fringes looked Tootalesque so I checked it out but the hidden knots stood out. I reckon it is a dress scarf to go with your tux the hidden knots on the tassels make it look a bit smarter, as to age it feels old so I am totally guessing 50s.

Has anyone heard of or own a Treasure scarf and know when they were made, I’d be interested to hear.

Talking Tebilized Tootal scarf labels the two below are the only versions I have seen so far, I believe the top one is the older as it is sort of in the format of the patent pending ones I have which I know are older, what do others think or more precisely does someone know for certain?

Here’s a really bright red Tootal scarf with a nice paisley print, the yellow highlights really pop! Being a bit shorter and narrower I’d again say this is 60s vintage but who really knows! Enjoy…

Back after a brief sojourn, today another Tootal scarf and this time one of my very favourites! It’s a red scarf with a large paisley pattern and a Tebilized label, with the cooler weather now here in Adelaide, Australia this one will get quite a work out! Hope you like it!

View attachment IMG_6259.jpeg Hi thank you for having me in the group, I’ve enjoyed reading this thread. I have recently started collecting Tootal scarves and ties.

Here are my recent finds, I particularly like the cream and grey one.

I’m thinking that the navy polka dot might be an early one as it has the patent numbers from the late 1920s. So maybe the scarf is pre-war, what do you reckon?

Great Scarf, I have asked regarding the dating of Tootal Scarf labels before but without any definitive answers, maybe no one really knows now, see my query above about the Tebilized label variants, re the patent numbered scarves I can say that style of label was being sold during WW 2 (Australian War Memorial reference) when it was introduced I have no idea. Happy collecting!

Back again and the journey through my 30 odd Tootal scarves continues!

This time we are going bright with a Lemon background scarf featuring a symmetrical Paisley pattern, the label is 60s 70s vintage but the smaller overall dimensions make me lean more toward 60s. The fringes on this one are shorter than normally experienced too. All in all a very nice Tootal!

Carrying on the lemon okay yellow theme of scarves from my collection here’s a nice paisley number with lush red tassels! A classic 1960s scarf in my opinion hope you like it!

Well I was going to add another Lemon scarf this time but had a big score, I picked up an old Tootal one with a PatentEd Finish label and it’s a beauty. I has a blue base colour featuring repeated columns of paisley patterns and two coloured tassels…hmmm a new favourite! This is a true classic and in Great condition, interestingly the label is on the wrong side, all of my other Tootals when you look at the end of the scarf with the label it is to the right this one is to the left, anyone else out there seen one like that?

Hi Again, scarf number seventeen of my Tootal collection, a nice bright red, deep red, blue and yellow paisley one. The fringes are long and nice and straight, the label would suggest any time from the 1960s on. I’ve never worn this one hence the folds, the fabric feels new to the touch, the edges are really crisp and it’s got that new car smell it’s as close to new as you can get!

Well another op shop pick up today, the Salvos in fact, picture included still has the label. So my eighteenth Tootal scarf listed is my newest! A nice doubled sided number, yellow with paisley decoration on the front and a nice bright red on the back, fringing is red that matches the back, the label is a style from the 1960s onward! Hope you like it still more to come…

How do you wear these scarves? I have a blue Tootal with white dots that looks really nice, but it loves to undo itself and tried to slip off when I'm not looking!
