I think I am sick of this holiday. Every year I ponder the thought that eight days seems excessive. Couldn't just be a three-day weekend, noooo.:eusa_doh:

Pizza and hoagies at the end is my family's tradition too.

There's this old joke about the guy who's getting baptized in order to keep his job. His wife was always against it, and even now she argues with him all the time. One day, he comes back and says:
"Honey, I couldn't bear the bad conscience anymore: from now on, I'll behave as a decent Jew again, no pretending we're anything else."
Wife: "How could you? What an idea?!"
He: "But, but - you were even more strongly against joining the church!"
She: "Yeah, sure - but one week before Pesach!?"

That's like the joke about the old Jewish man dying in his home while a huge thunderstorm rages outside, and he says "Call the priest!"

And his wife gasps, "The priest?!"
