has anyone come across thunder bay leathers? I was told aero make them recently,and then i saw one on the aero website in the second hand section. anyone know what the score is? cheers Bumph.

thunder bay is their line. Just not main jackets. My halfbelt is a thunderbay because I used a one off mid weight horse they had in stock as a sample.

cheers poohbang,came across one in a charity shop(thrift?) today for £30 (about $45) that looks like a vestes des rallye/stockman,seems like it could be a good buy.Why thunder bay and not aero though?

that's a great deal. Aero makes or did make a lot of jackets for other labels, including Levis. The thunderbay if I remember was what Ken used on mine because the leather was kind of a special one-of and I don't think maybe a trainee sewed it up? But it's been a few years and I don't remember completely.... I'll see if I still have an email from him about it...

Is there a way to buy these brand of jackets somewhere? Or are they the same as Aero?

If I'm not mistaken the Thunder Bay lines used cheaper hides. That's what Amanda told me, anyway. I used to owned one in (heavy weight) cowhide.
