Thoughts on this coat, please?

Me again, soliciting all of your expert opinions.

What is your take on this coat? It has 3 buttons but almost looks like there should be 4 ( ).

It definately is has a high gorge.

Where should #4 be? At the top?
I do not see a buttonhole..

Not my style. It looks a bit too much like an abandoned suit jacket for my tastes.
I realize sport coats may well be former suit jackets but some seem to work better than others. Maybe it is the color...

Actually, the gorge appears to be moderately placed.

I'd have to see the jacket on you to comment and a closeup of the fabric would help as well. Is it a glen plaid?

Yes it is a glen plaid....and I only have the picture, not the coat at this point.

Not a bad little jacket... I've seen coast like that worn with cream or white pants in 30's movies... and I've seen them worn with black pants in the 50's... lol

You could pull off the look, seems to have a nice balance to it... navy, black or cream colored pants would suit that jacket best I'd think.
