Thoughts about fit?

I think its just the button placement that makes it maybe look short in front.

On every button front waist length jacket I have there is a button at the bottom, at the waist. Where as with this its a few inches up so its kind of a chore/longer length button placement on a waist length jacket.

Do you have a hard time selling the ones you’re not comfortable in. I think it will be hard to part with this one.
Yes I do! In the five years that I have been hanging out here and collecting jackets I have not sold a single one! I have given a few away to good friends and family And I have a pile of jackets that I need to sell for one reason or another.
A couple of them are like your jacket here, perfect in every single way except for the length.

Thanks for the pics Carlos840. They all look great. I think your style brings them together too. My frumpy pants make me look like I’m disarray which I think detracts from the jacket fit.

Handymike can you pm me a list of your jackets as well? I’m not sure what pm means but hopefully it will become clear once it happens.

This is totally aside but I just realized I’m using my name as my handle. I don’t suppose there’s any way to change that??

The back and sleeves are optimal, at the front, as many have already written, on the short side. I think it seems shorter because it doesn't fit snugly on the body. At least for me it only works tight and short. If the jacket goes wider, then must be longer. It's like pants. Tight trouser legs can be short, but they don't look too short. Wide pant legs look weird when they're too short.

If you really like it you should keep it. Not that short to worry about...IMO it looks good !!

That’s an interesting thought MrProper and I agree.

I do like this jacket and the tea core is starting to show through in spots. I think it’s really going to be a looker. I’ll probably keep it and focus on dressing to meet its needs. How many of you have changed how you dress to meet the needs of your jacket?!

That seems like a good policy and when I start dressing with a little more style I’m sure I’ll adopt it. I take it you’re one of the folks who don’t like the fit here?

I didn’t post here hoping people would lie to me. So far I think it’s gone pretty well being that most don’t like the fit. I haven’t seen the jacket on anyone else which is how I can get a better idea of what I think for sure.

It's not that people lie. People are polite and not wanting to be hurtful. Sometimes a critical comment about a loved jacket can feel wounding, for good or ill.

I also think it is better for the culture here to be honest. But the only issue is that while it may be honest, it is only opinion and as we know opinions are like elbows - everybody has them.

I would keep the jacket and make it a little tighter at the waistband.
Here is an example from someone wearing very short jackets: https://instagram.com/slownsteady57?igshid=rip2m7kaqu2d
